Studio Founder & Lead Teacher
Karen Sanderson-Sanz
Classical method · All apparatus · All levels
Karen founded Pilates From Within and leads its teaching, classical Pilates rooted firmly in the integrity of the original method, taught with the warmth and encouragement that keeps clients coming back for years. With over 16 years' experience, Karen has developed a rare ability to read how a body moves, assessing, adapting and progressing each client with precision, so that the work is always exactly what they need, whoever they are and wherever they're starting from.
Her own journey began after the birth of her first child, when she set out to rebuild her strength and reconnect with her body, a need that grew into a lifelong passion. She trained originally in contemporary Pilates before being drawn to the classical method, its structure, precision and lasting results. Karen continues to deepen her knowledge with leading classical educators.
A graduate of the Everybody Pilates Master Mentor programme, Karen now mentors the next generation of teachers while maintaining the teaching standards the studio is built on. Her philosophy is simple: Pilates should feel empowering, not intimidating.

Pilates Instructor
Andrew Hui
Classical method · All apparatus · All levels
Andrew brings over a decade of Pilates practice to his teaching, alongside an intuitive understanding of the classical method. Empathetic and patient, with a keen eye for the detail of each movement, he works with clients to build strength and flexibility while developing a deeper awareness of how they move.
His own journey into Pilates began while managing chronic knee pain, looking for a way to build strength and mobility that worked with his body rather than against it. He found in classical Pilates a progressive system that delivers real, lasting change, and was motivated to share that with others.
Andrew left a career in finance to train comprehensively through the Romana Pilates International instructor programme at Kinetic Pilates in London.

Pilates Instructor
Tim Berry
Classical method · All apparatus · All levels
Tim discovered Pilates in 2005 while dealing with pain and discomfort, and through consistent practice resolved his lower-back issues and became largely pain-free. That experience shapes how he teaches: insightful, hands-on, and focused on helping you feel how your own body moves.
A former Royal Navy serviceman with a background in karate, boxing, rugby and rock climbing, Tim often reflects that Pilates would have been the perfect foundation for all of it. His training deepened his understanding of the connections through the body and movement from the powerhouse outward. He believes in working towards progress rather than guarding a painful area, using lengthening and mobility to move people forward.
By his own admission a hard taskmaster, but empathetic when it counts, he's passionate about helping others feel the benefits of Pilates. Beyond the studio he's a Level 3 Personal Trainer and trains with kettlebells and weekly boxing.

"Karen teaches both group and one to one and she is without a doubt the best teacher I have ever had here or in London. She knows the body very well, and understands your needs, she has an eagle eye and is very good at explaining how movements should be made."
